On Saturday, 22.07.2006, J. Schmalz GmbH held their third Trade Information Day. A total of 250 school-leavers and their parents took the opportunity of learning more about the 14 different apprenticeships and the sandwich courses available at Schmalz.

 
In direct discussions with the Schmalz trainees, the visitors were able to learn more about the various trades and about the experience of the trainees with the company.

In addition, there was a guided tour through the company premises every hour. This tour, just like the training courses at Schmalz, started in the training workshop. In the company showroom, which was one of the many stations of the tour, members of the staff demonstrated Schmalz products from the sector of vacuum technology. The visitors were also able to test these systems personally by using them to lift and move many objects such as stones, cardboard boxes, sacks and many other things with the aid of vacuum technology.

After this, they had the opportunity, in the workshop "Basic metalworking skills" of making their own aluminium memo holders. 
The Trade Information Day 2006 was rounded off with the Schmalz Quiz, with many interesting prizes, and refreshment in the form of cakes and drinks
