The new electronic vacuum switches VS-V-AH/AV-T from Schmalz contribute decisively to further automation of processes in the packing industry. The benefits to the user are obvious: products can be packed faster, more reliably and more flexibly.
The vacuum switches have two digital outputs and can be used universally as measuring and switching devices for safety monitoring tasks, for the optimisation of cycle times or for energy-saving functions. They are particularly suitable for applications which demand extremely precise switching, excellent repeatability, high switching frequencies and a long operating lifetime.
Today, the automated monitoring of processes plays a very important role in all sectors of industry, including the packing industry. The machines used for packing products are very fast. The new vacuum switches from Schmalz are predestined for use in such highly dynamic processes. Due to their small size and low weight, they can be integrated easily into the working environment of the machines. The robust plastic housing with an overall width of only 10 mm permits flexible installation. With the aid of an adapter plate, the switches can be mounted in a vertical or horizontal position, as required. In spite of the small size, the user does not have to forego ease of use: the switches can be adjusted easily and without the need for tools with the id of a teach button. This permits quick adjustment, even while the process is running, in order to achieve further optimisation of processes in the packing industry.
The electronic circuitry in the switches ensures precise measurement and evaluation and generates output signals via two separately programmable digital outputs. A two-colour LED indicator shows the user when the switching point of each output has been reached. The user can thus see the status of the switch at any time and can, if necessary, adjust the switching points with the aid of the teach button.
The vacuum switch can be set to switching points between -1 and 0 bar and withstands pressures of up to 5 bar. The electrical connections are made via a 4-pin M8 connector. The vacuum is connected via a flange connection, with options for connection by means of a tube (6 mm) or an M5 male thread. As a further option, the vacuum switch is also available with an adjustable hysteresis.
