Remote control for vacuum tube lifters

Programme extension vacuum tube lifter...

In time for the robot trade fair AUTOMATICA in Munich (Germany), J. Schmalz GmbH, the specialist for vacuum handling solutions, is presenting the newest innovation in the field of vacuum tube lifters that will provide the user with significant added value: the SRC (Schmalz Radio Control) for even more efficient operation of Schmalz Jumbo vacuum tube lifters. The vacuum tube lifters from the JumboErgo/JumboSprint series already stand for the economic rationalisation of many handling tasks and with the help of the SRC, the application areas should become broaden further.

With the new remote control, the vacuum tube lifters can be turned on and off even more quickly and precisely, resulting in an increase in the efficiency of electrical vacuum generation. In addition, a membrane keypad is integrated into the control unit of the JumboErgo and JumboSprinter vacuum tube lifters. This keypad can be manually operated easily, quickly and securely - even with gloves. The distance between the vacuum tube lifter and the vacuum generator (Schmalz vacuum blower type SB-M, SB-L or SB-V...) can measure up to 30 metres (!), making the SRC ideal for use with small crane systems and crane systems that operate over large areas.

The radio transmitter’s power supply is generated autonomously by a solar cell/induction generator. As a consequence, electrical lines between the vacuum generator and the operating unit on the vacuum tube lifter can be eliminated entirely. In addition, the wireless operation enables the vacuum tube lifter to be turned endlessly, simplifying the material handling in many cases. Radio technology is based on the SRD frequency band with 869 MHz (SRD = Short Range Device). A motor protection switch is installed to protect the blower. Additional functions were designed especially for the frequency-controlled Schmalz blower SB-V for use in conjunction with the Schmalz Radio Control. For example, the user can easily set the frequency, thus the power, in increments of 5 Hz from 50 Hz to 100 Hz and the last selected frequency can be selected automatically when the device is started again.

The innovative Schmalz Radio Control for vacuum tube lifters combines quick and efficient operation, significant energy savings, increased productivity and profitability and last but not least, the attractive price ensures short amortisation time.
