On Saturday, 2 July 2005, J. Schmalz GmbH held its second trade-training information day at its company headquarters. A total of 183 school-leavers and their parents took the opportunity to learn more about trade training and university courses.

Once again, each training sector set up information stands which were manned continuously by Schmalz trainees. Visitors could discuss with the trainees their experience of training in the company.
In order to allow the visitors to experience the Schmalz company and its various workplaces "live", guided tours were held every hour. As part of these tours, the visitors were taken to the company's showroom, where they could learn more about the Schmalz products and their functions and try out the lifting devices.

In the workshop "Basic metalworking" in the training workshop, all visitors had the opportunity to make their own Schmalz key fobs and thus to gain first experience in the use of machines and tools.
All information about Schmalz – from its foundation to today's subsidiary companies all over the world – was presented in a comprehensive company presentation, and the visitors could then take part in a Schmalz quiz on this subject. There were many interesting prizes for the right answers.

In order to discuss the newly gained impressions and information, the visitors could gather in our cafeteria, where drinks and tasty cakes were available.
The organisers and the visitors were all very pleased with this year's trade-training information day and intend to hold another one next year.
