This mechnical gripper permits the handling of pallets in systems with very short cycle times. A universal joint below the lifting tube permits the pallets to be tilted in any direction for inspection from below. In this application, the idle position of the vacuum tube lifter is always "up". These units are used primarily for sorting purposes in pallet repair stations.
