Removal of hot parts from injection-moulding machines

For the handling of plastic covers for door handles for the VW Polo, Utescheny AG, manufacturers of plastic components for motor-vehicle interiors, relies on bellows-type suction pads with 2.5 corrugations, made from HT1, from Schmalz. A gripper with six such suction pads removes three of the covers from an injection-moulding machine in each working cycle. These suction pads are ideal for such tasks, since they leave no marks on the plastic parts and can withstand temperatures of up to 160°.

The suction pads adapt themselves ideally to the surface of the plastic parts and permit fast and safe transfer of the parts to a conveyor belt. After this, the parts are removed manually from the conveyor belt, cleaned and packed for transport to the customer.
