Just in time for the LIGNAplus 2003 in Hanover, the vacuum specialists J. Schmalz GmbH in D-72239 Glatten present a new development in the sector of vacuum clamping systems for woodworking machines.
The new base plate Steel-Plate-T for the innovative workpiece clamping system INNOSPANN is equipped with solenoid valves, which saves the user from having to seal unused vacuum apertures on the plate with special sealing magnets.
The suction blocks Mono-Base-T and Quad-Base-T can now be placed directly on the base plate Steel-Plate-T and positioned anywhere in the area where the solenoid valves are mounted. Just as in the predecessor version, the suction blocks are first fixed magnetically and the workpiece is then clamped by means of a vacuum.
The new base plate Steel-Plate-T is available in two versions, namely with the valves positioned 75 mm apart for use with Mono-Base-T suction blocks and with the valves positioned 150 mm apart for use with Quad-Base-T suction blocks. The replacement of the sealing magnets with solenoid valves simplifies the use of the INNOSPANN clamping system in several ways:
The system is more flexible in use and easier to convert, the suction blocks can be positioned freely, there are no sealing magnets which may be lost and there are no sharp edges which interfere with cleaning of the clamping system components or the installed, complete clamping system. This in turn ensures good reproducibility in the clamping of the workpieces.
