Floating suction pad SBS - new sizes

Our floating suction pads for the low-contact handling or easily damaged parts are available in short in the diameters 20 and 30 mm.

For the handling of delicate parts, parts with holes in their surface or parts with easily damaged surfaces, Schmalz offers a special range of suction pads, the "Schmalz Bernoulli suction pads SBS".

Until now, these pads were available in two sizes:

  • Floating suction pad SBS 40 > with a diameter of 40 mm
  • Floating suction pad SBS 60 > with a diameter of 60 mm

We can now offer these suction pads in the diameters 20 and 30 mm. The new sizes are available in short.

These new sizes have been developed especially for delicate and very narrow workpieces.

Principle of operation:

The suction pads operate in the Bernoulli principle: compressed air enters the pad from the die or the top and flows out at the sides. This flow of air generates a vacuum for holding the workpiece and, at the same time, forms an air cushion between the pad and the workpiece. The suction pad thus "floats" over the workpiece. This makes it possible to grip easily damaged parts safely but with very little contact between the pad and the workpiece. Lateral forces are absorbed by three plastic pins.

Your benefits:

  • Operation without an ejector; only compressed air is needed
  • Low-contact handling
  • High leakage compensation and minimum deformation of the workpiece

Applications:

  • Handling of easily damaged parts such as wafer or printed circuit boards
  • Handling of extremely thin workpieces, such as films, paper and wood veneers, without permanent deformation

Ordering data/Technical data:

The technical data and ordering data for the sizes 40 and 60 can be found in our online shop. The new sizes will be added to this list in the near future.

Are you interested in our new suction pads? If so, simply send us an e-mail or call us (contact data are shown below). We will be happy to advise you!
