New: lightweight vacuum generators with additional functions

The extremely light basic ejectors of the SBP series are now available with integrated valve technology and a vacuum monitoring function!

The basic ejectors SBP - Schmalz Base Pump – with plastic housings were designed and constructed for universal use in lightweight gripping systems for the handling of airtight workpieces and for automated separation systems.

In addition to the functions and characteristics of the SBP series, the new vacuum generator SBP-C also has integrated valve technology and a system monitoring function.

Our highlights > your benefits!

  • Weight-optimised plastic housing > optimal, decentralised vacuum generation in highly dynamic processes
  • Ejector nozzles in six different diameters > closely spaced power ranges for optimised air consumption
  • Threaded or plug –in connectors, as desired > save space and simplify installation
  • Integrated valve technology and vacuum monitoring > the complete solution for optimal cycle times

Applications

  • Use in extremely dynamic handling systems
  • Handling of varying, airtight workpieces
  • Use in separation systems with restricted space
  • Construction of ejector blocks for the central or local, individual control of suction pads

Basic ejectors with additional functions
Basic ejectors with additional functions
The new vacuum generators are available with six different nozzle diameters. They can also be supplied with or without system monitoring and with or without a blow-off function.

Construction

  • Vacuum generator with single-stage nozzle, available diameters 0.5 to 2.5 mm
  • Housing made of light, impact-resistant plastic material
  • Compressed air and vacuum connected by means of quick-action push-in coupling or threaded connectors
  • Can be installed horizontally (secured with screws) or vertically (secured with base socket and clamping strip)
  • Basic housing with connection facility for a vacuum switch
  • Options: version with suction and blow-off valves (on SBP-C with nozzle diameter 1.0 mm or larger) + mini vacuum sensor or with blow-off reservoir (on SBP-C 05/07) + mini vacuum sensor

Additional functions

1. Integrated monitoring
The new ejectors are equipped with a vacuum sensor which permits system interrogation, thus ensuring safe gripping of workpieces. An additional and costly external connection is unnecessary!

2. Controlled suction and blow-off functions
In addition to the connection facility for a vacuum switch, the ejectors can be equipped with valves for control of the suction and blow-off functions.

  • SBP-C with nozzle diameter 0.5 or 0.7 mm: equipped with a blow-off reservoir, a valve (suction) and a sensor
The blow-off reservoir (filled with compressed air) automatically generates a blow-off pulse when the suction function is deactivated.
  • SBP-C with nozzle diameter >0.7 mm: equipped with suction and blow-off valves and a sensor
In this case, the second valve permits active and powerful blowing-off of the gripped workpiece!

The new ejectors are available as of calendar week 42.

A vacuum switch can be connected directly to the basic housing, making an additional connection to an external sensor unnecessary.

On ejectors with small-diameter nozzles, a blow-off pulse ensure quicker release of the gripped workpieces (ejector on the left). On ejectors with larger-diameter nozzles, a second valve controls an active blow-off pulse (ejectors centre and right).
