In the factory of a well-known manufacturer of jams and preserves, the task of placing the empty jars on a conveyor line by hand was very unpopular. With the new vacuum tube lifter from Schmalz and its multiple vacuum head, 60 such jars can be placed on the conveyor in a single operation and the work is now far less boring. The vacuum is generated by an ejector mounted on the head and the 60 bellows-type suction pads grip the jars by their bottoms, from the inside. The vacuum is distributed almost without hoses; it is carried by the four aluminium profiles into which the suction pads are screwed. This results in an extremely compact design.
