Removal of hot plastic parts from injection-moulding machines

HT1 suction pads permit problem-free further processing of plastic parts

Handling of plastic parts

Suction pads made of HT1 have many advantages. They leave no marks on the parts being handled, they are free of substances which could interfere with wetting of the parts during subsequent painting operations and they can withstand high temperatures. Messrs. Utescheny AG in Zaisenhausen uses the HT1 suction pads from Schmalz primarily for parts which have to be processed further.

They are used, for example for the handling of internal door handles for the VW Touran.

Mark free handling

The handles are first removed from the injection-moulding machine with the aid of the suction pads and placed on a conveyor belt. At this time, the parts have a temperature of 80 to 130° C. The conveyor has an integrated blower which cools the parts.

The parts cause fewer problems during the subsequent processing steps (in many cases, none at all). The HT1 suction pads leave no marks on the handles, which means that they can be painted or chrome-plated easily.
