Wooden pallets of varying sizes can be transported with the aid of the large-area gripper of the type FX mounted on an industrial robot.
The position of the area on the pallet which can be gripped is undefined.
In some cases, the available gripping area is reduced by the presence of cracks, knotholes, etc.
The check valves of the large-area gripper FX ensure the maximum possible holding force on the available area, since they prevent leaks through vacuum inlets which are not in contact with the pallet.
In this case, in order to provide the necessary stability for the short cycle times and rapid movements employed in the application, a quadruple large-area gripper of the type FX400x120SV, with integrated valves for gripping and blowing off, is used.
The very flexible but hard-wearing sealing mat guarantees good sealing, even on rough surfaces. When handling smaller or lighter pallets, each of the four grippers can be switched off individually in order to reduce the consumption of compressed air and the operating costs.
