Information about Filters and Connections

Interesting information about filters and connections

General Information

When using filters and connecting elements, the importance of the "correct" selection should never be underestimated. In many cases, the decisive design or maintenance errors are made with respect to these components!

Filter and Connections

Users often forget, for example, to change the cartridges of the filters in good time, or designers select hoses with insufficient internal diameters. As the hose length increases, the flow resistance becomes higher and the flow resistance is an important parameter in a vacuum circuit (see also Section 5).

In addition, particularly in dynamic applications, flexible hoses (e.g. polyurethane) must be used and the hoses must be secured with union nuts (for small hose diameters) or hose clamps (for larger diameters).

Check List

To assist you in planning your application, this page again provides the helpful checklist with the most important questions for correct design. The graphic at the bottom of the page shows how the hose diameter affects the flow resistance.

You can find the checklist and other information in the PDF file which you can download with the link at the bottom of this page.
